you must first conquer a specific guardian.

Defeating the formidable boss known as Tricephalos is the key.

This victory will grant you the new Nightfarers: the Scholar and the Undertaker.

The DLC also introduces further challenges and a changing landscape,

To unlock the Balancers boss in The Forsaken Hollows DLC, you need to complete the following prerequisites:

1) Defeat at least two bosses in the main Elden Ring Nightreign campaign — one of them must be Tricephalos.

2) Make both Nightfarers introduced in the DLC, the Scholar and the Undertaker, playable.

Once those conditions are met, go to the chapel that becomes accessible behind the small jar merchant to trigger the Balancers encounter.

To access the Nightreign expansion's exclusive features,

you must form a party with three other players who have also acquired the DLC.
