Every offseason, a group of Buffalo Bills content creators come together to work on a project about the franchise. The focus centers on the "10 most important Buffalo Bills" as it relates to the future of the 's always a pleasure to work on this project, as Joe Marino from Locked On Bills brings the group together to share our rankings. Our respective picks are then tabulated, which are then released by Marino through two shows that featured the average of our collective rankings. I'll have a separate article that features the finished product of our work, but in the meantime here are my top 10 picks for the Bills. 10. RB James Cook Despite some of the uncertainty around Cook's contract, he deserves a spot on this list. Cook has been the most effective offensive weapon for the Bills https://www.billssportapparel.com/collections/landon-jackson-jersey, and is still just 25 years old. I may be in the minority, but I expect general manager Brandon Beane to get a new contract done with Cook before Week 1 of the 2025 season.9. WR Keon ColemanWhen Buffalo chose not to make a significant investment at receiver in the draft, it appeared to be a vote of confidence in Keon Coleman. You can include me as a member of Bills Mafia who expects Coleman to take a step forward this season, adding a level of consistency to his game that he flashed prior to injury as a rookie.8. TE Dalton KincaidLast year I had Dalton Kincaid in the number-two spot, expecting a huge breakout following the departure of wide receiver Stefon Diggs. It was a bit of a sophomore slump for Kincaid, thanks to some noted chemistry issues with Josh Allen last season. Assuming that this is something Joe Brady can work on with both Kincaid and Allen, I expect a nice bounce-back season for the former first rounder.7. LB Terrell BernardWith Matt Milano having battled injuries over the past two seasons, we've seen Terrell Bernard blossom into the leader of the Bills' defense. The only captain on the defensive side of the ball in 2024, Bernard has established himself as a playmaker for Buffalo since becoming a full-time starter. Bernard now has a new contract extension, keeping him with the Bills for the next five seasons.6. WR Khalil ShakirKhalil Shakir continues his ascension for Buffalo's offense, catching 76 passes for 821 yards in 2024. While the statistics are nice, it was clear that Shakir established himself as the most-effective passing option for the Bills last season. This was evident in the two games that Shakir missed https://www.billssportapparel.com/collections/tredavious-white-jersey, where Buffalo's offense looked abysmal. Shakir also signed a four-year contract extensionkeeping him in Buffalo for the foreseeable future.5. DE Greg RousseauGreg Rousseau also received a well-deserved contract extension this offseason, locking up the talented defensive end for the next five seasons. Like most of the players on this list, Rousseau's best football is likely ahead of him. The addition of Joey Bosa should pull some of the attention away from Rousseau, which could lead to him reaching double-digit sack numbers in 2025.4. CB Christian BenfordWhile expectation may be high for rookie cornerback Max Hairston, there will be some added pressure on Benford playing on the opposite side. Benford has established himself as the Bills' top cornerback over the past two seasons, and was rewarded with a four-year contract extension this offseason. The departure of Rasul Douglas will likely amplify Benford's importance to the defense, making him an easy choice for this top-four selection.3. RT Spencer BrownBrandon Beane looks like a genius for extending Brown prior to the 2024 season. The former third-round pick played at a Pro Bowl level last season, missing just one game with an injury. Brown is still just 27 years old, and has solidified the right tackle position for the Bills. He should continue to shine this season, with all five starters returning along the offensive line.2. LT Dion DawkinsWhile it may not be popular to include a 31-year old offensive tackle this high on my list, I cannot look past the fact that Dawkins has three years left on his contract with the Bills. He had his best professional season in 2024, and has shown no signs of slowing down at this stage of his career. Dawkins is the most critical player along Buffalo's offensive line https://www.billssportapparel.com/collections/joey-bosa-jersey, and his performance will be crucial to the offense's success in future years.1. QB Josh AllenThis should come to no surprise to Bills fans that Allen is once again in my top spot. The Buffalo Bills go as Allen does, with the 2024 NFL MVP playing at the top of his mentioned earlier, the consensus top 10 has been announced on Locked On Bills. I'll have a follow-up article breaking down those picks in the coming days. Let me know what you think of my selections in the comments section below.
